Aquila 45 Sport: the new flagship of the range

In the high-performance power catamaran segment, Aquila Catamarans raises the bar with the new Aquila 45 Sport. This isn’t just the top model in the brand’s sport lineup—it represents a true evolutionary leap for the shipyard, which now delivers a boat capable of perfectly blending high performance, contemporary design, and uncompromised livability.

Unveiled in a world premiere at the Palm Beach International Boat Show 2026, the Aquila 45 Sport immediately stands out for its incredibly generous beam and a hull that, at first glance, promises outstanding stability and exceptional seaworthiness.

The design, developed in collaboration with Yacht Design Works, draws clear inspiration from the automotive world, echoing the aesthetics of luxury SUVs through sharp lines, bold proportions, and a strong visual presence that definitely doesn’t go unnoticed.

Aquila 45 Sport: social life and lifestyle

The aft cockpit is the true hub of outdoor living: thanks to hydraulically folding side terraces, the beam expands from 15 to 19 feet, transforming the space into a real platform over the water. This solution not only increases the usable area but also enhances the direct connection with the sea. Still aft, the two modular U-shaped seating areas can easily convert into a large sunpad, while the galley can be outfitted with optional features such as a barbecue and TV, making it ideal for all-day use. Access to the water is made easy by a retractable stainless steel swim ladder with teak steps—practical, well-integrated into the design, and perfectly in line with a boat built for spending hours at sea without ever feeling the need to head back.

The same philosophy carries forward to the bow, where Aquila has created another full-beam relaxation area—an increasingly popular solution on boats of this type. Here you’ll find forward-facing sun loungers equipped with fold-down armrests, cup holders, and dedicated storage for smartphones. The layout is completed by a central hatch that provides easy, direct access to the anchoring system, along with additional compartments for storing fenders and lines.

The generously sized hardtop includes mounts for carrying water sports equipment, emphasizing the boat’s dynamic nature. At the stern, a retractable electric sunshade provides excellent coverage when needed, while the integrated LED lighting—both above and below deck—enhances the overall look during night cruising or at anchor.

Performance and Design

On the performance side, the 45 Sport features a double-stepped hull designed to improve efficiency, reduce drag, and ensure outstanding cruising comfort. The boat can reach a top speed of over 50 mph, with a particularly efficient cruising range between 30 and 40 mph. Power comes from twin 600-hp Mercury Verado V12 outboards, a setup that delivers strong acceleration and responsive handling in all conditions. The hull is built using vinylester vacuum infusion, a construction method Aquila applies across its entire range to guarantee structural strength, lightweight performance, and long-term durability. The boat is also CE-certified for categories B, C, and D, confirming its versatility.

The helm station reflects the project’s modern approach, with an ergonomic and highly functional layout. Four forward-facing seats are arranged side by side, well-protected and equipped with armrests and foldable supports to ensure comfort even at higher speeds. All systems are intuitively organized, from digital controls and audio systems to color-changing LED lighting, chartplotters, and engine management.

Onboard systems include three flush-mounted 16-inch chartplotters, a Fusion Apollo stereo system, and a 5-inch C-Zone display for managing the vessel’s digital DC system. The latter also allows monitoring of the optional lithium battery pack, which powers, among other things, an air conditioning system that can be used in off-grid mode. The setup is completed by both underwater and deck LED lighting.

Additional features include a hot and cold freshwater shower, stainless steel safety gates on both sides, and plenty of storage space distributed throughout lockers and beneath the seating.
