Aquila Catamarans in Cannes with Seven Models: World Debut for 45 Sail and 35 Sport

Aquila Catamarans is preparing to be among the stars of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2026, scheduled from September 8 to 13, with a particularly rich presence. The shipyard will exhibit no fewer than seven models, namely two sailing catamarans and five power catamarans, confirming its expansion strategy across both segments. Of these, two will be world debuts: the new Aquila 45 Sail, the second model in the shipyard’s sailing range, and the Aquila 35 Sport, a new compact power catamaran in the Sport family. Joining them will be the European debut of the 45 Sport, presented for the first time in the United States earlier this year. The sailing models will be displayed in the Port Canto area, while the motor range will be hosted at the Vieux-Port.

Aquila 45 Sail: The New Sailing Catamaran Debuts in Cannes

The main novelty in the sailing catamaran line is represented by the new 45 Sail, a model measuring approximately 47 feet long and designed to offer the ultimate balance of comfort, livability, and sailing performance. The design prioritizes interior spaces and areas dedicated to socializing, while maintaining high navigation efficiency thanks to a sail area exceeding 1,350 square feet when sailing upwind.

Among its distinctive features, the fixed bow stands out, increasing the available space for sunbeds and seating, while the direct connection between the flybridge and the bow facilitates movement throughout the entire boat. The aft cockpit has also been designed as a true social space, seamlessly continuing into the salon and galley, which feature large windows that ensure brightness and a constant visual connection with the sea.

The model is available in three- or four-cabin configurations, all equipped with an independent entrance and private head, allowing it to accommodate up to twelve people and adapting both to private use and charter requirements.

Aquila 35 Sport: The New Compact Power Catamaran

The other world preview is the new 35 Sport, which transfers the styling language of the flagship 45 Sport into a more compact platform. The double-stepped hull was developed to ensure a good balance between performance and efficiency, featuring standard twin 300-horsepower Mercury Verado V8 engines or optional 400-horsepower V10s.

With a beam of nearly 4.5 meters, the layout prioritizes outdoor living. The bow area houses a relax zone for four people, while the cockpit features a large convertible U-shaped dinette, complete wet bar, Corian countertop, and a Fusion Signature Series audio system.

The helm station offers four adjustable seats and excellent visibility while underway. Below deck, there is a double cabin with a memory foam mattress, optional air conditioning, and a full head—a configuration designed for coastal cruising and multi-day stays. Equipment also includes a retractable stainless steel swim ladder, the C-Zone digital switching system for managing onboard systems, and a fiberglass hardtop equipped to transport SUPs and kayaks.

European Debut for the Aquila 45 Sport

Following its introduction at the Miami International Boat Show 2026, the 45 Sport arrives in Europe for the first time. The model represents the flagship of the Sport range from Aquila Catamarans and was developed as a platform dedicated to entertainment, reinterpreting the center console concept through an exceptionally generous beam.

Fold-down side terraces expand the overall beam to over 5.8 meters, transforming the cockpit into a true beach club overlooking the sea. Numerous sunbathing areas at both the bow and stern reinforce the boat’s convivial calling, while the double-stepped hull, paired with twin 600-horsepower Mercury Verado V12 outboards, allows it to top 80 km/h in maximum speed.

The Complete Aquila Catamarans Range Between Sail and Power

Alongside the new debuts, Aquila Catamarans will bring other representative models of its production to Cannes. The 50 Sail, the brand’s first sailing catamaran and already an award winner internationally, will be displayed with four-, five-, or six-cabin configurations and the option to choose between diesel powerplants or the Hybrid Ocean Drive™ system.

The Yacht range will be represented by the 50 Yacht, featuring Explorer styling, a large flybridge, and a full-beam owner’s cabin, and the 46 Yacht, winner of the Yacht Style Awards 2026 in the Power Catamaran 12-16 meters category.

Completing the display will be the 46 Coupe, a model that combines the comfort of an enclosed salon yacht with the performance of a sports cruiser, also distinguished by the use of the Aquila Hydro Glide® system, designed to significantly improve efficiency compared to traditional monohulls.

A Strategy that Strengthens International Presence

With such a rich presence at the Cannes Yachting Festival, Aquila confirms its intent to consolidate its position among the key players in the catamaran market, expanding both its sailing and power offerings in parallel. Commenting on this, Alain Raas, Global Brand Director of Aquila Catamarans, stated: “The Cannes Yachting Festival is the perfect stage to showcase the continuous evolution of Aquila. The new 45 Sail and 35 Sport reflect our commitment to delivering innovative, versatile, and performance-oriented catamarans across both our sailing and power ranges. Along with the European debut of the Aquila 45 Sport and a fleet consisting of seven models, visitors will have an exceptional opportunity to experience the versatility and strength of Aquila Catamarans.”

Conclusions

The 2026 edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival represents a strategic milestone for Aquila Catamarans. The two world debuts and the European debut of the 45 Sport bear witness to the expansion of a brand that continues to invest simultaneously in sailing and power catamarans. The variety of the displayed fleet also highlights a clear drive to cover different market segments, offering models designed for both private owners and professional charter operations, with a strong focus on comfort, efficiency, and operational versatility.
