ICE 80 Platinum: The new luxury cruiser combining performance, comfort, and uncompromised style

With the new ICE 80 Platinum, ICE Yachts expands its range by introducing a version destined to bridge the gap between the sporty performance of the RS line and the elegance of its most refined blue water cruisers. The project is the result of a collaboration with Umberto Felci and Felci Yacht Design, with the goal of creating a yacht capable of combining dynamism, advanced technology, and maximum comfort, all while preserving the signature stylistic identity of the Italian shipyard. The result is a highly contemporary 80-footer, where every design element has been developed to offer an exclusive sailing experience, whether cruising or during high-performance navigation.

ICE 80 Platinum: A design sculpted between elegance and aggressiveness

The new ICE 80 Platinum immediately stands out for its sleek, clean lines, capable of conveying power and refinement at the same time. The reverse sheerline, streamlined silhouette, and coachroof design with its expansive window wrap-around contribute to a sporty yet sophisticated look, further enhanced by the new curved glass windshield inspired by the famous 1960s Riva Aquarama. This solution seamlessly combines aerodynamic protection, functionality, and iconic elegance.

The aesthetic language developed by Felci Yacht Design embodies the concept of a ‘thoroughbred in evening wear.’ Indeed, this yacht is engineered to guarantee control, responsiveness, and comfort, all while maintaining a powerful stylistic personality.

Performance and technology at the service of navigation

On the technical side, the ICE 80 Platinum adopts top-tier solutions designed to optimize performance and handling. The CNC-machined lifting keel by APM Keels allows the draft to vary from 3 to 4.70 meters (9.8 to 15.4 feet), enhancing both sailing performance and accessibility to shallower waters. The steering system features JP3 racing bushings and an autoclave-cured carbon fiber rudder stock, ensuring precise handling and helm sensitivity even in the most demanding conditions.

The entire deck has been laid out to simplify maneuverability: a furling boom mainsail, furling headsails, a self-tacking track, and a Harken captive winch for the mainsheet allow for easy short-handed sailing—a rare feat for a yacht of this size and performance. The onboard components reflect this advanced philosophy as well, with Bamar jib, staysail, and gennaker furlers pre-configured with 48-volt motors, alongside custom-developed Harken winches.

Bright interiors and superyacht comfort

The ICE 80 Platinum aims to redefine the concept of onboard comfort through modern, bright, and highly customizable interiors that meet the exacting standards of the superyacht world. The master cabin features a ‘suite’ configuration with an island king-size bed and ocean views, while the guest cabins ensure privacy and premium amenities, including independent air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and fold-down TVs.

The use of light, natural materials amplifies the perception of space, creating an elegant and contemporary ambiance. Every detail has been developed with artisan craftsmanship, from the 8-inch custom mattresses with memory foam inserts to the technical areas—such as the galley, captain’s cabin, and engine room—all designed to maximize functionality and operational efficiency.

Exclusive exteriors: Craftsmanship meets innovation

The exterior spaces represent one of the project’s most distinctive elements. The solid teak cockpit benches, the cleats integrated into the gunwale, and the sculpted carbon fiber table highlight the shipyard’s exceptional build quality. The deck features highly selected 10 mm teak, crafted to the highest artisan standards to ensure elegance, durability, and a premium tactile feel.

The treatment applied to the hull and deck is particularly noteworthy: a special 4.7 mm insulating coating that enhances both the quality of the triple-layer metallic paint and the acoustic comfort on board. The Platinum version also includes an exclusively designed, removable carbon fiber deck shower positioned in the sunbathing area.

Home Automation, Lighting, and Onboard Sustainability of the ICE 80 Platinum

The new ICE 80 Platinum integrates advanced home automation systems to manage the lighting and onboard equipment. LED spotlights distributed throughout the interior and exterior allow for the creation of customized scenes by adjusting intensity and colors, helping to define different ambiances throughout the day.

The onboard systems have been engineered without compromise, utilizing top-tier components to guarantee reliability, energy efficiency, and ease of use. Among the most innovative solutions is the ultrasonic antifouling system, which uses micro-vibrations to prevent microorganisms from adhering to the hull. This significantly reduces maintenance requirements and allows the antifouling coating to last up to four years.

Safety and advanced maneuverability

The new steering pedestals centralize the control of the primary onboard systems, allowing the skipper to manage safety, navigation, and maneuvers directly from the helm station. The bow and stern thrusters work in tight coordination to facilitate docking even in confined spaces, while the hydraulic bow fairleads paired with a dedicated mooring winch streamline line handling during port operations.

The entire deck layout reflects the extensive seafaring experience gained by ICE Yachts and the design team, with the ultimate goal of ensuring total control and ease of use, even on a high-performance yacht.

Conclusion

With the new ICE 80 Platinum, ICE Yachts offers a yacht that masterfully synthesizes sportiness, luxury, and advanced technology. This project goes beyond simply delivering high performance; it aims to redefine the blue water cruising experience through comfort, innovation, and uncompromised build quality. The collaboration with Felci Yacht Design once again confirms the Italian shipyard’s ability to interpret the maxi sailing yacht segment with a distinctive vision, where aesthetics, functionality, and the pleasure of sailing coexist in perfect balance.
