NAVALTECNOSUD BOAT STAND has designed a brand-new technical solution for transporting boats over 2.55 meters wide by truck, without the need for exceptional transport.
A true game changer in the world of yacht transport comes from Navaltecnosud Boat Stand, an international reference in the design of supports for the shipbuilding industry. The company has developed an innovative system — a special cradle operated by hydraulic pistons — that makes it possible to transport boats by truck while avoiding the restrictions and costs of exceptional transport.
According to current regulations (art. 10 of the Italian Highway Code), transport is classified as “exceptional” when the load exceeds 2.55 meters in width. In such cases, specific permits are required, sometimes even technical escort vehicles, and strict routes and schedules must be followed, all of which have clear consequences in terms of time and logistics costs.
The new cradle designed by Navaltecnosud Boat Stand allows the hull to be tilted sideways through a hydraulic system integrated into the positioning arms, reducing lateral bulk during transport. An effective and ingenious solution that enables many boats to fit within the limits of ordinary transport, bypassing the entire authorization process required for oversized loads.
“We worked hard to simplify one of the most critical aspects of boat transportation by land – says the company’s technical team – This cradle is the result of careful design, field testing, and daily exchanges with industry professionals”.
Every component was conceived, developed, and manufactured in-house at the mechanical workshop in collaboration with the company, the outcome of a collective effort involving designers, technicians, and shipyards. The system is CE certified, ensuring compliance with European standards of safety and reliability.
This introduction marks a concrete step forward for the marine logistics sector: a smart, practical solution that cuts through bureaucracy, reduces costs, and enhances the daily work of shipyards, haulers, and industry professionals.
The new system will be officially presented at the major international boat shows in 2025, where Navaltecnosud Boat Stand will showcase its full range of lifting, handling, and storage solutions for boats:
Cannes Yachting Festival (September 9–14)
Genoa International Boat Show (September 18–23)
Monaco Yacht Show (September 24–27)
Venice Boat Show – ICOMIA (October 15–17)
Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (October 29–November 2)
MetStrade – Amsterdam (November 18–20)
With this new proposal, Navaltecnosud Boat Stand once again demonstrates its ability to respond to real market needs, offering tailored, reliable, and technologically advanced solutions, consolidating its role as a strategic partner for the entire professional boating sector.
