Positioned at the helm station, enhanced by a sports-designed steering wheel, we left the moorings with 600 liters of fuel in the tank and the water tanks nearly empty. Powering us today are two Volvo IPS 600 engines working in sync with the renowned Air Step® 2 hull, bringing us onto plane in the blink of an eye.

The driving position is ideal, and visibility is consistently excellent in all directions. Pushing the throttle down, acceleration is decisive and progressive, with speeds climbing rapidly and effortlessly. At 20/22 knots, the Beneteau Gran Turismo 50 Alpine finds her perfect trim—the point where the hull offers minimal drag and glides lightly over the water, with fuel consumption settling at around 5.5 liters per nautical mile, an impressive performance for such a well-equipped (and therefore heavy) boat.

Pushing it to the limit, we reached 32 knots, though more than the performance itself, it is worth describing the sense of safety this vessel conveys. Even at top speed, it is possible to execute hard turns without the yacht losing her composure.

Design and Interiors: Alpine Style and Smart Spaces

Sleek lines and an undeniably sporty soul: the aesthetics immediately catch the eye. The interior and exterior spaces are characterized by a refined combination of navy blue and deep black, colors that unequivocally recall the racing DNA of the famous automotive brand Alpine. The main deck is designed around a “full-space” philosophy, where the cockpit seamlessly extends toward the large covered salon, separated only by a massive, full-width sliding glass door.

Onboard comfort is amplified by advanced Ship Control technology—an intuitive home automation interface that allows control of lighting, climate control, and instrumentation directly from a connected tablet or onboard displays. Below deck, the large full-beam master cabin and the VIP cabin welcome guests into a luxurious environment crafted with meticulous attention to detail, complemented by a bright L-shaped galley featuring modern Corian countertops.

Special attention is also due to the spacious aft tender garage, capable of housing a Williams Minijet 280 (or a traditional RIB up to 2.90 m), paired with a generous hydraulic swim platform featuring a lifting capacity of up to 350 kg.

However, what struck us most is the masterpiece of design synthesized by the ensemble of the outdoor dinette, the sunbed, the drop-down side terraces, and the submersible platform. When working together, all these elements create an area of incomparable beauty, where contact with the sea and the privilege of this position are simply unmatched.
