Porto Santo Stefano Welcomes Back the 25th Edition of Argentario Sailing Week 2026 – Miramis Trophy, One of the Most Prestigious Events on the International Circuit Dedicated to Vintage and Classic Yachts. The silver anniversary edition, which kicked off yesterday and runs through June 28, is enhanced by the presence of the historic tall ship Nave Palinuro, a symbol of Italian maritime tradition. She will remain moored at the Garibaldi pier and will be open to visitors throughout the event.
Organized by the Yacht Club Santo Stefano under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, the Tuscany Region, the Province of Grosseto, the Municipality of Monte Argentario, the Italian Vintage Sailboat Association (AIVE), and the International Mediterranean Committee (CIM), the event confirms its global footprint with 50 boats representing ten nations and three continents.

A Fleet Guarding 3,478 Years of History
The most remarkable statistic of Argentario Sailing Week 2026 is the exceptional historical heritage out on the water: the fifty registered boats collectively represent 3,478 years of sailing and naval architecture history. Standing out among the headliners is Cariad, celebrating her 130th anniversary, alongside Chinook and Rowdy, both reaching their 110-year milestone. Meanwhile, Hallowe’en, Margaret, and Marilee are celebrating their centennials.
The fleet is divided into eight categories: Big Boats, Vintage Gaff, Vintage Marconi, Classic, Classic IOR, Cruiser, Spirit of Tradition, and Swan Classic, with trophies awarded to the top three finishers in each class.
Four Days of Racing in the Gulf of Argentario
The regattas for Argentario Sailing Week 2026 take place from Thursday, June 25, to Sunday, June 28. The first warning signal is scheduled for 11:00 AM today. The event will conclude with the awards ceremony at the regatta village on the Pilarella pier.
The event will draw over a thousand people, including owners, crews, guests, organizers, and enthusiasts, generating a significant economic impact for the area and solidifying Monte Argentario’s role as one of international sailing’s most cherished destinations.
The participation of Nave Palinuro, the Italian Navy’s historic training tall ship, is highly anticipated, adding an extra layer of charm to an event already rich in historical and cultural depth. “This year, we have the privilege of hosting Nave Palinuro, one of the Italian Navy’s most iconic vessels, which brings additional charm and beauty to both the event and our region,” emphasized Alessandro Maria Rinaldi, President of the Yacht Club Santo Stefano. “Argentario Sailing Week – Miramis Trophy truly captures the essence and legacy of the challenges sailing ships faced in the past. Their allure has remained unchanged through centuries of yachting, offering an unparalleled spectacle that is impossible to resist. I extend a warm welcome to the owners and crews of these magnificent vessels that have left an indelible mark on 20th-century sailing history.”

Rinaldi continued: “Special thanks go to Mayor Arturo Cerulli and his administration, whose determination made this dream a reality. I thank the regional and local Maritime Authorities, particularly the Commanding Officer of Nave Palinuro, Gianluca Montella, who will make the tall ship available for onboard visits over the coming days, and the Commander of the Maritime District Office of Porto Santo Stefano, Lieutenant Commander Francesco Luigi Balsamo, for deploying the resources necessary to accommodate so many vessels. I also wish to express my gratitude to our title sponsor, the Miramis group, which enhances our seaside hospitality on land by offering participants access to its prestigious hotels.“

A Tradition Since 1992
The history of Argentario Sailing Week dates back to 1992, when a group of Yacht Club Santo Stefano members organized the “Le Vele d’Argento” (The Silver Sails) regatta. Over the years, the event grew into a cornerstone of the international vintage sailing calendar, blending sport, maritime culture, the preservation of nautical heritage, and regional promotion. The 2026 edition—the first to officially take on the full name “Argentario Sailing Week – Miramis Trophy”—thus celebrates 25 years of an event that remains a premier gathering for classic sailing owners and enthusiasts in the Mediterranean.
“The launch of the 25th edition of Argentario Sailing Week – Miramis Trophy celebrates a tradition that has evolved over time without losing its identity—the result of a shared commitment by institutions, associations, and professionals who contribute every year to the success of an event capable of drawing owners, crews, and guests from all over the world,” stated Stefano Cuoco, CEO of Miramis. “For Miramis, it is a source of great pride to support this event this year as title sponsor. It is a true benchmark in the sailing world and helps showcase Argentario as a destination capable of hosting international events and a community united by a deep-rooted maritime culture.” Miramis is an international hospitality company that develops hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues, and experiential destinations rooted in local heritage, history, and contemporary culture, with a portfolio spanning Sweden and Italy.
Arturo Cerulli, Mayor of Monte Argentario, concluded: “We are delighted to welcome a new edition of Argentario Sailing Week – Miramis Trophy, an event that for over thirty years has linked the name of Monte Argentario to elite international sailing. This historic regatta brings owners, crews, and enthusiasts from all over the world to our region, showcasing one of the most beautiful and appreciated stretches of water in the Mediterranean. The Argentario offers a unique backdrop where sport, sea, and landscape meet in an extraordinary way. We are proud to host one of the most prestigious dates on the international calendar for classic and vintage yachts and to introduce its participants to one of the most breathtaking areas of Tuscany and Italy.“
